10 Local Favorites Hilton Head Island, SC

You all asked and we are delivering! This our our guide for some favorites of local Hilton Head Islanders. This is a quick mix of food, drink and to do. We could go on and on with this guide, but these 10 took the cake…

Java Burrito

We’ve probably mentioned Java Burrito in every guide we have created thus far, BUT it is because it is THAT good!! You’ll be craving this place all vacation long with their craft coffees and seasonal specials like their chocolate covered strawberry latte, they are a coffee-lover’s dream. They serve fresh, vibrant Mexican fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner in a “build your own” style of ordering down the line. It really is a must-try while you’re on the island and you can fit in a trip during any part of the day since they have such a wide array of offerings – PS even margaritas ! https://www.javaburrito.com/

Gifted

Coincidently right next to Java Burrito in the Village at Wexford is one of my favorite gift shops. Gifted has a little something for everyone! From coastal jewelry to scarves, dish towels, blankets and more! Every item screams coastal and Hilton Head Island. You’re sure to find something beautiful to bring home a piece of the island. http://giftedhiltonhead.com/

Amigos Cafe Y Cantina

Perhaps one of my favorite margaritas on the island is this local favorite, Amigos! Most everyone on the island knows about their barbeque chicken salad, which is just mouth-watering and a staple in our diet. They have indoor and outdoor seating located near Coligny. Incredible portions and just plain great authentic Mexican food. http://www.amigoscafehhi.com/

Salty Dog T-shirt Company & Happy Hour Cruise

Get your infamous Hilton Head Island Salty Dog t-shirts while also having ice cream, a drink or a bite to eat along the marina in South Beach, Sea Pines. This company also has a few other options to check out such as their t-shirt shop on Arrow Road that you can swing by on your way off island to grab that last minute apparel! Also, they have a happy hour cruise that is awesome!! Locals do it just for fun! Here is a link to get tickets: https://cruise.saltydog.com/

Healthy Habit

One of my all time favorites is Healthy Habit and all the salads and yummy food they have to offer! You can build your own custom chopped salad with the freshest of ingredients. They also have acai bowls, paninis, smoothies etc. ! Located between Sea Pines and Coligny, it is a great spot to grab salads to go and hit the beach! They have an app you can download to place or order or give them a call to pick up! However, they also have adorable indoor and outdoor seating! https://www.healthyhabithhi.com/

Outside Hilton Head

Outside Hilton Head has amazing boat tours, kayaking and all kinds of activities to book while you’re on island! I have done some of the boat tours and love them! They also have a retail store mid-island that is an awesome place to find island-apparel, shoes or gifts! https://www.outsidehiltonhead.com/

Rollers Wine & Spirits

Rollers Wine & Spirits is where you can find locals especially on a rainy day! Gorgeous inside, they have a wine & charcuterie bar where you can taste different wines. Their staff is always super knowledgeable and overall just a very aesthetically pleasing and tasty activity! They have tastings Tuesdays 5-7pm you can find on their website. Also an incredible option to get a gift basket or a little beach picnic! Who doesn’t love cheese, wine and local charcuterie? https://rollerswineandspirits.com/

Mitchelville Beach

Mitchelville Beach AKA Fish Haul Beach Park is a wonderful island spot to see a more unique beach on the island. It has beautiful sea oats, coastal greenery, wide walking area and rocks. It is best to visit when the tide is going to high or close to high. There are very few waves as it is between islands so it great for kids to wade in the water. Lots of free parking and restrooms. If nothing else, it is a great stop for a beach walk during your trip. https://www.hiltonheadislandsc.gov/ourisland/Parks/parksandfacdetails.cfm?FacilityID=34

Pool Bar Jims

Pool Bar Jims has TONS of hand crafted frozen concoctions that are sure to make you feel like you’re on island time! Located at the Seacrest in Coligny, parking is limited, but more than doable. There a few spots for PBJs (Pool Bar Jims) under the Seacrest or you can find parking along the road or the Coligny beach parking and walk over. Their mint mojito is super yummy! They have great burgers & fries as well to go with your island drinks! The drinks are also massive! It is also oceanside so you can check out the beach as well! https://www.facebook.com/Pool-Bar-Jims-283656335302/

Pinckney Wildlife Refuge

Last but not least, Pinckney is a beautiful place to explore. No dogs allowed, but you can hike, bike and explore the lowcountry greenery and gorgeous marsh views. https://www.hiltonheadisland.com/pinckney-island-national-wildlife-refuge/
