Timing is so important when it comes to getting the most beautiful Hilton Head Island beach photos!

We only shoot at sunset hour which is the hour before the sun officially sets. The main reasons we do this are:

#1. It gives the most beautiful, flattering lighting that we love in our photos

#2. The beach on Hilton Head can be very BUSY before this sunset hour. You want to be able to focus on enjoying your session and not having beach goers running in and out of your photos! 🙂

#3. It is incredibly HOT & BRIGHT before sunset hour. The sun reflecting off of the white sand makes sunglasses a must! You don’t want to be sweating and squinting for your session! It is not only uncomfortable, but the photos will not be up to our standards :).

#4. There are VERY few beaches with shade on Hilton Head Island. Hilton Head’s beaches don’t have shade like some others such as Florida do. There are no high rises on the beach to provide shade early in the evening! This is a GREAT thing because it means barely any buildings in your beach photos, but also, no shade from the sun :).

Shooting the hour before sunset allows for GORGEOUS lighting even when the sun has set behind the horizon! You can’t beat it!
